Cemetery of Dionyssos – Extension and Restoration

The existing cemetery in Dionyssos, Attica is located on a hillside with 26m difference in height and requires an extension. The planning includes new concepts for pathways and traffic, development of plant, green and open spaces and organization of new graves.

The existing church gets a new square for retreat and gathering, where urn sculptures, water surfaces and bone walls will find their worthy place.

Through the choice of sustainable materials, less sealed surfaces, water reservoirs distributed throughout the facility, the cemetery is sustainable and continues to function as a park.
