Public market with treetop shadow

Based on forests treetops, the design of a green shadowy treetop roof over the historic market and agora square areas becomes the new unifying element for the existing situation in the middle of Chalkis. The creation of weather protecting public paths and areas underneath a light roof structure with leaf like coverings for sun and shadow plays on the flooring, evokes new qualities on its public spaces and becomes a new highlight within in the old city structure and finally a possible landmark for the town.
